Research: Future skills needs across the transport sector
This independent report provides an analysis of the future transport workforce and skills needs.
The report outlines future skills needs across the UK’s transport sector. It also examines the sector’s challenges, which include demographic trends, the impacts of new technologies and the transition to net zero.
It identifies actions for the sector to consider, including:
- upgrading sector level workforce and skills data
- undertaking coordinated and high-quality sector attraction
- increasing collaboration between transport modes
- encouraging apprenticeships
- promoting investment in environmentally-conscious (green) jobs and digital skills
