Security scanners (SSc) approved by Department for Transport for use in aviation security. The SSc are used to screen passengers at airports to ensure they are not carrying prohibited items.

Standard 1 equipment removed because no longer approved for use in the UK: AvSec policy. 28 September 2021 New entry from CEIA plus updated equipment configuration added from Nutech. 21 December 2020 Rebrand of L3 Technologies, Inc to Leidos, as well as new configurations from Leidos, Nuctech and Smiths Detection. Updated guidance on the introduction of Standard 2.1. 21 May 2020 Equipment alterations and additions for L3 Technologies plus , Inc, additions were added Rohde & Schwarz and Smiths Detection as well. 20 December 2019 New equipment configurations added from L3 Technologies, Inc and Nuctech. 16 May 2019 New equipment added for Smiths Detection, L3 Technologies, Nuctech plus Rhodes & Schwarz. 10 October 2018 Equipment configurations added for L3 Technologies, Inc, Rohde & Schwarz and Nuctech. 22 March 2018 New equipment added from L3 Technologies, Inc and Rohde & Schwarz. 16 November 2017 Approved security scanners list updated. 14 August 2017 List of approved security scanners for screening people at airports. 4 August 2016 List of approved security scanners updated. 19 May 2016 New security screening equipment for security scanners (SSc) updated. 18 November 2015 Updated with new equipment approved by the European Civil Aviation Conference. 30 July 2015 New equipment approved by the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC) on 28 July 2015. 5 November 2014 Updated with new aviation security equipment recently approved for operation use by DfT and the European Civil Aviation Conference. 19 August 2013 First published.
