Listing of the approved explosive detection systems for cabin baggage (EDSCB) approved by the Department for Transport for use in aviation security.

The approved EDSCB analyses cabin bags and trays for the presence of explosive material.

This listing has a 3 tier standard approval. The first standard, C1, is approved for use in airports.

The remaining standards, C2 and C3, will require special approval from us before being used.

28 October 2022 1 updated equipment configuration added to the list from Nuctech.

8 July 2022 7 updated equipment configurations added to the list from Nuctech.

16 February 2022 List updated with 4 new equipment configurations added from Nuctech, 3 new equipment configurations added from Rapiscan, 2 new equipment configurations added from Smiths Detection and 5 updated equipment configurations added from Smiths Detection. Formatting has been set to mirror ECAC descriptors.

29 March 2021 3 new equipment configurations added to the list from Analogic, and updated entries from IDSS Holdings Inc., Leidos, Nuctech, Rapiscan and Smiths Detection.

15 February 2021 Updated with: 3 new equipment configurations added to the list from IDSS Holdings Inc; 2 new equipment configurations added to the list from Nuctech; 1 new equipment configurations added to the list from Smiths Detection; 11 updated entries from Analogic; 1 updated entry from Gilardoni; 11 updated entries from Rapiscan; 7 updated entries from Smiths Detection.

21 December 2020 Added new equipment configurations from Smiths Detection.

22 October 2020 L3 Technologies, Inc. has been rebranded as Leidos. 3 new equipment configurations from Leidos have been added to the list. 3 new equipment configurations from IDSS have been added to the list.

21 May 2020 Equipment configurations added for IDSS and Nuctech.

20 December 2019 New configurations added from IDSS, Smiths Detection, Rapiscan and Analogic.
