M45 Traffic

The M45 is a 13-mile motorway running between Coventry and Rugby in the English Midlands. It opened in 1961 as part of the original network of motorways and was the first motorway to use poured concrete rather than tarmac.

In terms of safety statistics, the M45 has seen diminishing levels of fatalities over the past few years. In 2019, there were 3 people killed, down from 11 in 2018 and 16 in 2017. The total number of reported casualties on the M45 in 2019 was 196, with 132 being slight, 54 serious and 10 reported as unrecorded. average yearly figures over the previous five year period show an average of 5 fatalities and 202 casualties.
