The A452 is a road located in the West Midlands, connecting the boroughs of Solihull and Birmingham. It connects Solihull to Birmingham via the M42 motorway, running initially as a dual carriageway before narrowing to a single carriageway towards Birmingham.
The A452 is one of the busiest roads in the West Midlands, due to its direct connection to the M42 motorway and the large number of businesses and industries which are located in and around the road. Peak hour traffic is particularly congested, with traffic typically reaching its peak from 5:00 am to 10:00 am and from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The traffic flow on the A452 is mainly free-flow traffic, with some sections experiencing congestion during peak hours.
When it comes to safety statistics for the A452, figures released by the West Midlands Police show that over the last three years, the number of road traffic collisions along the A452 has decreased by 28%. In addition to this, the number of fatal road traffic collisions along the A452 has decreased by 25% over the same period. Despite these improvements, the A452 is still one of the most dangerous roads in the West Midlands and drivers are advised to maintain a high level of caution when travelling along it.
