The A110 is a major arterial route located entirely in the county of Essex, in the eastern part of England. It runs approximately 33 miles in a north–south direction, and links the town of Bishop's Stortford in Hertfordshire, with the M25 motorway junction in Thurrock, Essex.
The A110 dates back to the early 19th century, when it formed part of a larger toll road route known as the Great Eastern Road. This route was laid down as a means of transportation and communication to connect London with the eastern counties and beyond. Over the years, the A110 has been subject to several improvements, including widening and the introduction of a dual carriageway section in 2018.
The busiest times for the A110 are typically mornings and late afternoons, when commuters travel to and from work. There is also increased traffic during holiday periods.
Traffic flow on the A110 is generally good, with no major congestion problems reported. The road has relatively low accident rates, with no severe accidents reported in the last year
