The A103 is a major road in London that connects Haringey to Holloway, across the borough of Camden. It dates back to at least the mid-nineteenth century, when it was known as the Burril Estate Road. This road then became the urban link to Victoria Rail Station, and the street has been widened and lengthened to accommodate more traffic, being known as the A103 since the beginning of the 20th century.
The busiest times of the A103 are during rush hour when commuters for work, and in the evenings when students and visitors are travelling to the pubs and restaurants on the high street.
Traffic flow on the A103 is restricted at peak times, and frequent congestion can occur. This can mean that journey times in the rush hour can be significantly longer than during off peak times. During these peak times, traffic can at times extend onto surrounding roads.
In terms of safety statistics, the A103 is generally considered to be a safe road, due to its wide carriage way and well maintained infrastructure. However, it is worth noting that the junction of Holloway Road and Liverpool Road is a hotspot for pedestrian and bike accidents, and its wise to exercise caution when travelling through this area.
